Choose a transfer method
USB import
Connect the iPhone with a data-capable cable, unlock it, respond to the trust prompt if shown, and use Windows Photos to import. This is a familiar option for a direct transfer.
Cloud sync
Cloud photo services can make videos available on a Windows PC after upload and sync. Large videos may take time, and the available cloud storage and network upload speed matter.
Wireless transfer app
A wireless app can send selected videos to a Windows PC without a cable. Check whether the app supports large files, cross-network transfer if needed, and resuming an interrupted transfer.
Before transferring large videos
- Check the available space on the PC's destination drive.
- Keep both devices powered and avoid letting the PC sleep.
- Use a stable Wi-Fi network for local transfers.
- Test one video first and play it on the PC before sending the rest.
- Keep the original on the iPhone until you have verified the copy.
Check video format compatibility
If a video transfers but will not play on Windows, the issue may be codec support rather than the transfer itself. Check the file format and the playback app's supported codecs. Do not assume that a failed playback means the video file is corrupted.
